Epping Forest College is holding a special open day on Saturday 14th October 2017 to highlight the progress made in the last year since principal Saboohi Famili took over the running of the college.
College principal Saboohi Famili said: “Many people took me up on my offer to drop in and share their views and ideas a year ago when I had just been appointed as the CEO and principal and I wanted to hear from people about how we could improve their local college.

“One year on, I am inviting people to come and see how we have improved and see our plans for the future.

“We have faced many challenges over the last academic year and now proudly share some of the results.”

The college’s successes include a 13% improvement in Level 2 Vocational Achievement (now 5% above the national rate), a 3% improvement in Level 3 Vocational Achievement (now 3% above the national rate), a record 98.75% pass rate at A-Level, a 91% pass rate in GCSE English and GCSE Higher Maths, and over 92% positive progression from college courses to employment, further study, university and apprenticeship schemes.

Ms Famili added: “We would really like people to come and see how the college has improved so much in just one year. We are inviting people to ‘What a Difference A Day Makes’, a special event to mark ‘one year on’.”

The open day runs from 10am until noon on Saturday 14th October.

There will be an opportunity to find out more about what the college has to offer and its plans for the future.

Admission is free but if you wish to go along then please email future@efc.ac.uk to register your interest.
