Ark Dickens Primary Academy and Nursery is a two form entry primary in the heart of Portsmouth in the Charles Dickens Ward. We offer a curriculum that focuses, first and foremost, on our children becoming confident and capable readers, writers and mathematicians. These key, lifelong skills are then enriched and developed through as many experiences as possible in science, ICT, the creative arts and the humanities.
We believe that education is most effective when there is a close partnership between school, home and the community. As a result, we always welcome and value the support and contributions of all our families.
In these ways, then, Ark Dickens is a school with the very highest aspirations for all its children, centred on its vision of ‘learning for life, aiming for excellence’.
Our vision is to provide every pupil with the opportunity to go on to university or pursue the career of their choice.
